CUV Sales Boost Overall Totals

Hot sales by the Hyundai lineup of crossover utility vehicles (CUV) gave the company the best August ever in terms of overall sales. This comes right at the time Hyundai is releasing its new line of Genesis luxury cars. The G80 is now available for a test drive at Chapman Hyundai Scottsdale, soon to be followed by the premium G90. “Strong performances by our family of CUVs led us to our best August ever,” according to Hyundai national sales VP Derrick Tatami. “It’s a similar story to the past couple of months we see continuing as the summer draws to a close.” Now is the best time of the year to make a deal on 2016 models as dealerships need to make room for the 2017 Hyundai lineup.

Santa Fe, Tucson Lead the Way

Very strong sales from the CUV lineup of the Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport and smaller Tucson were the main reason for the record month. The Santa Fe, Hyundai’s midsize utility vehicle, had a 69 percent increase from the previous year. The Santa Fe Sport was up 21 percent and the Tucson had a 15 percent increase. With fuel efficiency reaching 28 mpg on the highway and a starting price tag of just $25,350, the Santa Fe Sport is the mid-range of the Hyundai CUV offerings. The Sport offers a 185 horsepower four-cylinder engine, 6-speed automatic and 71.5 cubic feet of interior cargo room to haul everything from kids to antiques. Bluetooth connectivity, a suite of available driver assistance safety features and America’s best warranty program make the Sport a no-brainer for daily commutes or a weekend excursion.

Genesis G80 Off to Strong Start

Hyundai executives are thrilled with the initial month of G80 sales, indicating that the new luxury line is filling a void in the American marketplace. The company sold 1,497 of the sophisticated sedans in August, leading to optimism that the G90 will do just as well. “It’s exciting to see our first G80s being delivered to customers and we’re very happy with the reception it’s receiving,” according to Erwin Raphael, general manager for the Genesis line in the United States. “And I expect we’ll see the first G90s getting to our dealers later this month, another milestone moment for our nascent brand.” Whether you’re looking for a fun and versatile daily driver or a new take on a comfortable luxury sedan that still delivers plenty of performance, head over to your Scottsdale Hyundai dealer, Chapman Hyundai, and take a look at what’s new from Hyundai.

Luxury Brand Offers Voice Activated Controls

When the new luxury Hyundai Genesis G80 and G90 arrive at Chapman Hyundai Scottsdale for sale, they will be loaded with a variety of luxury features normally only available on much more expensive name plates. One of the features will be the ability to control your vehicle from home with the use of the Amazon Echo voice activation system. The Echo is a relatively new product from the online retail giant, which to date had been used to control the automation features of a home, including music, lights, temperature and security. When the new Genesis vehicles hit the streets, you can use the echo to access the Alexa virtual assistant and start your car, adjust the temperature, unlock or lock doors or simply find its location. Drivers who purchase a G90 will also receive an Amazon gift card.

Hyundai Takes Giant Leap Forward

Although Hyundai has a history of offering luxury vehicles such as the Equus, the creation of a Genesis lineup of extremely upscale cars takes the automaker to another level. Expected to arrive at dealerships sometime next year, the G80 and G90 are poised to compete against BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, offering the same quality and performance for a much lower price. The G90 has very few options, because its loaded with standard features such as noise suppression, power sunroof, leather dash, heated and ventilated seats, soft-close doors and a 17-speaker killer audio system. You can choose between a turbocharged 3.3L engine or naturally-aspirated 3.8L motor. Both will pin you back in your seat when you hit throttle. When combined with a superior suspension system with driver-adjustable dampers, the G90 blurs the line between sophistication and mind-blowing fun.

G80 Pairs Power With All Wheel Drive

Like its bigger brother, the Hyundai Genesis G80 comes with a technologically superior HTRAC all-wheel drive system that improves control in tough road conditions, as well as providing superior handling when you take those corners a little too quickly. You can choose from a 311-horsepower V6, or step up to the 32-valve V8 that produces 420 horses and 383 pound-feet of torque. Adjustable seats offer 16 different positions so you can be at your most comfortable on those long road trips. Premium leather seating and wood trim add to the level of sophistication on this modern executive sedan.
