The hot-hatch segment of the car industry has long been dominated by Europeans but Hyundai has decided to give it a try with the new Veloster. The Veloster has three doors, a driver side door and two passenger side doors.

The outside of the Veloster is sporty and from the front you can tell instantly it is a Hyundai with its noticeable big hexagonal grille. From the rear though Hyundai may be the last thing that comes to mind, but together with the slopping roofline the car is a head-turner and really stands out. There are two centrally located large exhaust pipes that are accented by a rear diffuser. As expected the Veloster is aggressive and loud in its appearance but also in its overall nature, which is appealing to Hyundai Arizona drivers.

Inside the cabin is modern, clean, and upscale. Leather seats with Turbo stitched onto them, sunroof, and contrasting interior color all come standard. There is also a standard 7-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system, and an available 115V outlet for power, plus connections for video or flash drive, and even an Xbox 360 hook up, that together make this car fun and modern.

Under the hood the Veloster Turbo comes standard with a six-speed manual 1.6-liter Twin-scroll turbocharged intercooled inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, the same power as the much less fuel efficent 2.0-liter turbo found in the Volkswagen Golf. There is also an available 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC and paddle shifters to Veloster Phoenix consumers. The Veloster weighs less than most cars in its class, which gives it a better power-to-weight ratio and has an EPA fuel efficiency of 27/38 or 31 combined. The Veloster features front suspension gas-charged hydraulic shock absorbers that deliver a responsive and sporty ride. The Motor Driven Power Steering that comes standard automatically improves steering response and allows the car to handle the road with ease. The rear stabilizing bars help improve control on curves.

Overall the Veloster is a slick, modern, sporty car that is unique and fun to drive. Head to your Phoenix Hyundai dealer for a test drive today!

By installing either the 190-hp, 2.4-liter direct-inject four-cylinder or a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder the new Santa Fe has a 16 percent improvement in rigidity. Either engine option for Hyundai Arizona drivers is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and will have improved mpg numbers compared to previous models.

A look at the interior shows a completely new dashboard, electroluminescent gauges, HD radio, Pandora audio, and Blue Link telematic connectivity system. The materials used were also upgraded giving the interior an overall improved atmosphere. There is added leg-room and cubic feet for cargo space behind the rear seats. Other highlights Scottsdale Hyundai drivers can benefit from include: seven airbags, including one to protect the driver’s knees and side airbags bags that deploy in a rollover crash; driver-selectable steering effort; a panoramic sunroof option; heated rear-seats that split 40/20/40 and offer separate fore-aft adjustability.
